The Alma Hospital Accepts Its First Patients
On 1st November 2007 the Alma Bi Hospital opened its doors for the first time ever to host a 7 day eye camp for the local community.
The eye camp was publicised in local towns and villages using 40 colourful, high profile banners.
Over 120 people arrived to have their eye sight checked on the first day, and a further 240 were seen by a team of 7 eye specialists on the second.
Large numbers of people were admitted for treatment following the checks and the team of specialists worked over night to carry out cataract operations.
For everyone involved in the charity seeing the hospital used to restore sight to hundreds of people is an emotional and massively rewarding moment.
