The Alma Hospital Accepts Its First Patients
On 1st November 2007 the Alma Bi Hospital opened its doors for the first time ever to host a 7 day eye camp for the local community.
The eye camp was publicised in local towns and villages using 40 colourful, high profile banners.
Over 120 people arrived to have their eye sight checked on the first day, and a further 240 were seen by a team of 7 eye specialists on the second.
Large numbers of people were admitted for treatment following the checks and the team of specialists worked over night to carry out cataract operations.
For everyone involved in the charity seeing the hospital used to restore sight to hundreds of people is an emotional and massively rewarding moment.

Alma Hospital Registered in Pakistan
19th April 2007. At a presentation ceremony today Hafiz Abad District MNA Mr Chaudry Liaqat Abbas Bhatti and the Chairman of the Alma Bi Hospital Welfare Association, Mr Sayed Shoaib Shah Nawaz jointly announced the registration of Alma Bi Hospital Welfare Assoication with the Community Charity Board.
The registration opens the way for the Alma Bi Hospital to access the partial funding from the Hafiz Abad Community Charity Board needed for the equipment and staffing required to bring the hospital into operation in the near future.

Mohammed Younis on the World Service
The Alma Hospital Trust's founding Trustee Mohammed Younis will feature on the BBC World Service in July 2007.
As part of their series Heart and Soul the World Service are repeating a programme called "My Name is Mohammed" at various times on 14th and 15th July.
